Yangjaecheon Stream

Yangjaecheon Stream is a 15.6 km long stream that runs through Gyeonggi-do and Seoul. The river is a tributary of the Hangang River that runs through Seoul. The stream which was smelly and polluted has been revived and brought back to life in recent years and is now a popular spot for people to visit and relax. Yangjaecheon Stream is very similar in history and style to Cheonggyecheon stream in Seoul.

The stream is home to a great ecosystem where fish and birds live. There is a nice walkway that follows the stream and it is very popular with couples in the evening. At certain points along the river you can use some outdoor exercise equipment. There are 8 bridges that cross over the stream and around most of the bridges there are some cafes, galleries, art pieces or information about the local environment. Yangjaecheon Stream is very popular amongst people of all ages and the Yangjae Citizen’s Park that the stream flows through.

How to get to Yangjaecheon Stream:

There are numerous ways to visit the stream as it its so long. The most popular starting point is Guryong station on the Bundang line. The stream is right outside exit 2.
