Hyochangwon and Uiryeongwon Tomb

Hyochangwon and Uiryeongwon tombs are located at the Seosamneung tomb cluster. They are Won type tombs which means they are very basic when compared to the royal tombs. Hyochangwon tomb is the tomb of Crown Prince Munhyo. He was the eldest son of King Jeongjom the 22nd monarch of the Joseon Dynasty. Crown Prince Munhyo was born on September 7th, 1782 and passed away at the age of 4 on May 11th, 1786.

Uiryeongwon is the tomb of Uiso, the eldest son of the Crown Prince Sado.  He was born on August 27th, 1750 and passed away less than two years later on March 4th, 1752.

These two tombs are more basic than the royal tombs and are on a very small hill.

Opening Hours / Admission:

March to October: 9am ~ 6:30pm
November to February: 9am ~ 5:30pm
Tickets stop going on sale 1 hour before closing time.
Closed on Mondays.

Admission:

1,000 won for adults (19 to 64)
500 won for youth (7 to 18)

How to get to Hyochangwon and Uiryeongwon Tomb:

Take line 3 to Samsong Station and leave exit 5. Take bus number 41 and get off at Seosamneung Entrance (서삼릉입구). Walk straight for 5 minutes and you will see the ticket area.
